Melanie L. Wells-Alvarado

Melanie is a photographer and Interior Designer who has been based in New York City since 1996 and now has made Costa Rica her second home. She has worked independently as a photographer traveling, capturing the essence of people, places and social issues and concerns.

CURRENT DOCUMENTARY PROJECTS:
"Costa Rica Indígena" the first book of a series of 8 is due to come out in the winter of 2008-2009" Costa Rica Indígena - Los Cabécar ".

"Una taza e café - from 1930 to 2006" - Photo essay of Costa Rican coffee pickers. Will be published together with the story 'Una taza e café' written by Don Jose Luis Cardona Cooper which won Costa Rica's highest literally award in the 1930's. Expected publication date - Spring 2009.
